Now is the time…

I have decided that now is the time to quit my well-paying, “dream come true” job, in order to chase the dream of being a full time consultant who works for herself. As, I have reflected on the privilege that I have to be able to do that, I have decided that I also want to take this opportunity to bring attention to people, places, and situations in need of assistance.

Abortions are healthcare

SB 8 will ban abortion as early as 6 weeks and put a minimum of a $10,000 bounty on anyone that helps someone obtain an abortion in Texas.

This law specifically targets abortion funds, which help Texans pay for their procedure and get logistical help like a ride to the clinic.

Let’s be clear that abortions will still happen, this will just make them more difficult to get, leading to unsafe alternatives.

SPONSOR A CLASSROOM

School is back in session and back in person. As we know, teachers are superheroes and spend so much money making sure that the kids are alright. I suggest reaching out your teacher friends or local public schools and seeing if they need assistance covering the cost of classroom supplies.

HURRICANE IDA RELIEF EFFORTS

Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana in Late August 2021 and has caused flooding, power outages, and destruction. I recently visited New Orleans in May 2021 and was in awe with its beauty and to now know that just three months later it is dealing with another storm.

THE PANDEMIC ISN’T OVER

Covid 19 cases are on the rise again as new variants arrive. If you are able to I suggest getting the vaccine in order to protect yourselves and others. As always, continue to wash your hands and wear a mask.
